The Venue

A Blend of History and Innovation

The conference will be held at the Conference Center "Le Benedettine", a prestigious congress center owned by the University of Pisa. Located along the southern bank of the Arno River (Lungarno Sonnino), this venue represents a perfect synthesis of Pisa's rich history and its modern academic excellence.

Historical Background:
Originally founded in 1393 as a monastery for Benedictine nuns, the complex boasts a long and fascinating history. For centuries, it served as a cloistered convent dedicated to prayer and work. The distinctive brick façade and the internal courtyard maintain the austere charm of medieval Pisan architecture.

In the 1970s, the property was acquired by the University of Pisa and underwent a meticulous renovation led by the famous architect Marco Dezzi Bardeschi. The restoration preserved the ancient structures while integrating modern functional elements, transforming the convent into a dynamic hub for conferences, student services, and cultural events.
